Every detail of Rumah Rubah has been intentionally planned to create a truly unique and unforgettable stay. Unwind in complete privacy amidst a beautiful tropical garden, swimming pool and bespoke furniture, and experience the blend of Balinese culture with modern design and sustainability.
PRIVATE CHEF
At Rumah Rubah, you will be immersed in the culinary artistry of our in-house chef, Deni Setiyowati. Chef Deni’s distinguished career includes working in prestigious hotels as well as serving on the core culinary team during the 2013 APEC Summit held at the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua.
Inspired by Indonesia’s rich maritime heritage and the abundance of fresh seafood, Chef Deni brings a passion for these ingredients to the villa, sourcing them directly from the local markets. She is deeply inspired by the cultural significance of food in Bali, where offerings and rituals are intricately linked to culinary traditions, and provides guests an authentic Indonesian dining experience with a focus on the unique and exotic flavors of Bali. Chef Deni’s philosophy is simple: to spread love through food. Seeing your happy smile is her greatest reward.
GARDEN
Immerse yourself in vibrant beauty of nature at Rumah Rubah. The meticulously curated garden boats hundreds of diverse plant species, each chosen to create a symphony of color, fragrance, and texture.
Every corner of the garden is a sensory journey and tells a story of nature’s generosity and charm. A perfect sanctuary for rejuvenation, Rumah Rubah is a place to find peace, to reconnect with nature, and to be enveloped by the beauty of the tropics.
ARTWORK
A cultural experience begins from the moment you enter the villa through the antique Balinese wooden entrance guarded by locally handmade clay fox statues. The carefully curated collection of Indonesian art, from primitive to contemporary pieces, offers a great insight into the country’s rich artistic heritage.
The villa’s collection includes Ceremonial Masks dating back to the 19th and early 20th century, and various sculptures such as the Anak Raja, a terracotta sculpture from East Java, the Female Hampatong, and the Agriculture Fertility Guardian from Sumba, all symbolizing deep-rooted traditions and beliefs.
In contrast, other artwork such as photographs by Pierrot and a stunning upcycled piece made in Lombok by the Plastic Kembali team add a modern touch to the villa’s rich cultural tapestry, offering guests a rich and engaging cultural journey through its unique blend of ancient and contemporary art.
